Loyola O’Driscoll (MHA, Ferryland) has officially announced that he is endorsing his caucus colleague, Tony Wakeham, to be the next leader of the PC Party and Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador.

“After careful reflection and consultation with the residents of Ferryland district, I’m proud to join Tony Wakeham on his journey to become the next leader of our party and Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador. Tony understands the issues that the people in my district and across the province face. I’m ready to join his team and help him tackle these immense challenges,” said O’Driscoll.

O’Driscoll believes that Wakeham’s background in health care and financial management, along with being a sitting member in the House of Assembly will be valuable assets to a province under his leadership.

“I know that having a sitting member as our leader is extremely critical for the period that lies ahead. After sitting in a caucus with Tony since 2019, I can confidently say that Tony is the right leader with the experience, integrity, and the common sense to get things done for the betterment of the people of our province. Tony will unite our party and our province. It’s just the kind of person he is,” said O’Driscoll.

Loyola O’Driscoll joins fellow PC MHAs Craig Pardy (Bonavista), Joedy Wall (Cape St. Francis), and Pleaman Forsey (Exploits), who have already previously publicly endorsed Wakeham.

Team Tony is expected to make further endorsements announcements in the days ahead.
